North Okanagan-Shuswap Launches RCIP: A New Pathway for Skilled Workers
The North Okanagan-Shuswap region, encompassing communities such as Vernon, Salmon Arm, and Armstrong, has commenced its involvement in the RCIP as of April 22, 2025. This community-driven program is designed to attract and retain skilled foreign workers by providing a pathway to permanent residence, thereby addressing labor shortages in key sectors.
The program is managed by Community Futures North Okanagan and Community Futures Shuswap, which are responsible for establishing priority sectors and occupations based on local economic needs. These sectors are reviewed annually and may be adjusted over the next three years to align with evolving labor market demands. rcipnorthokanaganshuswap.com+1futuresbc.com+1
