Your Fast Track to New Brunswick: Critical Worker Pilot Program Explained!

Looking to make Canada your new home? New Brunswick might just have the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Through the New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Program (NBCWP), the province is paving the way for skilled international workers to settle down with a permanent job, a long-term future, and a clear path to permanent residency.

What Is the New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Program?

The NBCWP is a five-year pilot program designed to address persistent labour shortages across key industries and regions in New Brunswick. It’s not your average immigration stream—it’s employer-driven, which means it starts with a job offer from a participating company.

How Does It Work?

Unlike many immigration programs, this one does not accept direct applications from candidates. Instead, eligible employers recruit and select qualified candidates who are then supported through the provincial immigration process.

Current participating employers include major names like:

  • Cooke Aquaculture

  • J.D. Irving Ltd.

  • Groupe Savoie

  • Groupe Westco

  • Imperial Manufacturing Group

  • McCain Foods, Ltd.

These companies have been chosen for their proven track record with immigration programs and their commitment to supporting newcomers with settlement, language training, and career development.

Who Can Apply?

To get started, a candidate must:

  • Receive a genuine full-time, non-seasonal job offer from one of the participating employers.

  • Be PR Ready—which means having all documents, meeting eligibility requirements, and being prepared to submit a complete application.

  • Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the INB portal.

  • Wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA), after which they submit a full application within 45 days.

  • If approved, they can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Permanent Residence.

After Nomination

If you receive a nomination, you must submit your PR application to IRCC within six months. It's crucial to maintain all the conditions of your nomination while awaiting a decision.

Why Choose This Program?

  • Clear pathway to permanent residency

  • Employer support for settlement

  • No job hunting stress—employers do the recruiting

  • Focused industries where your skills are in high demand

Ready to Begin?

Check out job listings at www.nbjobs.ca, and if you're contacted by a participating employer, you might be on your way to joining one of Canada’s most welcoming provinces.
